Birdhouse Skateboards presents Black 6 construction, the latest development in skateboarding technology to provide strength, pop and flick, while retaining the natural feel of seven-ply hard rock Canadian maple. All Black 6 decks come with a limited warranty to guarantee against defects in workmanship. The secret of the Black 6 construction is the namesake sixth black ply of maple that is thicker than a normal ply of deck construction to provide strength and stiffness at a very low increase in weight, add in the super stiff and strong UltraBond proprietary glue and you have a deck that pops and flicks like no other and keeps from going soggy long after other boards are done for. To offset the minimal weight increase of the slightly thickened Black 6 ply, the top rail of the boards are left square instead of rounded to make the board feel a quarter of an inch wider than a normal board of the same shape.
