From sources at Associated Newspapers. Great news! Skateboarding has recieved backing to become an Official Olympic sport. It hasn't yet been adopted as a demonstration event for the London Olympics but you never know (thinks I wondered why there were so many new parks suddenly getting support around the Capital.).
