Hot Springs police are looking into an officer's actions after an Internet video (See above)appeared showing him choking and assaulting three teens who were skateboarding near the city's famed Bathhouse Row.
Hot Springs police spokesman McCrary Means confirmed Tuesday that Officer Joey Williams stopped the teens on a city sidewalk June 21. Means declined further comment, saying the department would release more information about the arrests later Tuesday.
The YouTube video, posted Monday, shows Williams apparently choking one teen and forcing him to the ground, while later chasing and wrestling two others while holding them in a headlock. In the video, Williams says several times that the teens violated a city ordinance by "fleeing" from police. Williams could not be immediately reached for comment.
Meanwhile, Hot Springs police say that the chief of police has directed the Departments Internal Affairs Board to conduct an investigation into the incident. Police say Williams has been placed on administrative leave with pay during the internal investigation.Should anyone feel inclined ot comment the police dept concerned their website is at

Suffice to say that my views on this uniformed thug's brutality are winging their way to him.Hot Springs markets itself as a tourist city. Eight bathhouses that figured prominently in the popularity of Hot Springs as a resort town in the first half of the 1900s are lined up along Bathhouse Row there and it seems that the anyone is welcome provided they aren't a skater.
